FAQ

Questions people ask before they apply

What is the Ownership Operating System

The Ownership Operating System is a ten principle framework for personal transformation. The ten principles are The Core Declaration, The AND Life, Effort Is Not Ownership, Reaction Is Surrender, Discipline Is Freedom, Identity Before Strategy, Responsibility Without Blame, Design Over Willpower, Sustaining What You Claim, and Living as an Owner. They form a progression, each one addressing a specific limitation that prevents ownership. Each principle carries a Personal Tool used inside the coaching engagement. The core premise is that everything in your life is yours to respond to, shape and govern, which is different from everything being your fault.

What is the difference between life coaching and therapy

Therapy is clinical treatment provided by a licensed practitioner, oriented largely toward understanding and healing the past and treating diagnosable conditions. Ownership coaching is a structured, forward facing process focused on the gap between the standards you claim and the behavior you actually produce. Therapy builds insight. Coaching converts insight into changed behavior. Many clients do both at once. Anyone in acute mental health crisis should begin with clinical care.

What is the individual coaching engagement like

Individual coaching is a six-month engagement with a dedicated TJT coach, consisting of 12 biweekly, 60-minute virtual sessions. Together, you'll use the Ownership Operating System to identify the inner dialogue and underlying behaviors keeping you stuck, and translate insights into meaningful action. Between sessions, you'll practice what you're learning in real-life situations, building the ownership, accountability, and lasting change you want to create.

Is coaching done in person or virtually

Individual and small group coaching are delivered virtually, which is why we are able to work with clients across the country. VIP Intensives and select seminars are in person.

Who is Tyreek Moore

Tyreek Moore is a Harvard graduate, the founder and CEO of TJT Consulting Services, and the creator of the Ownership Operating System. He has spent more than two decades coaching executives and building organizations across entertainment, sports, business and education, with clients including Live Nation, Meta, Def Jam Records, Warner Music Group and the NBA.

What actually happens in a session

Every session is forward movement. Not a check in. Not a processing session. Not a conversation about how something made you feel. A session where something shifts. The specifics of the engagement are walked through on your discovery call.

What if I already know what I should be doing

Almost every client does. That is precisely the condition this framework was built for. Knowledge is rarely the constraint. The constraint is a system that keeps producing the same behavior regardless of what you know.

Do you work with teenagers

Yes, in two formats. Teen Individual Coaching is a one on one engagement. The Teen Ownership Program is a group program. Both are for ages 13 to 18 and both focus on agency, identity, emotional resilience, relationships and purpose.

Do you work with people in recovery

Yes. Owning Your Recovery is a program for people who are sober or sober curious, focused on building identity, relationships, purpose and expansion beyond abstinence. It is not a substitute for clinical treatment or a recovery program and it is not designed to be.

How do I know if I am ready

The most reliable signal is that you already know the honest answer to a question you have been avoiding. Readiness is not confidence. It is willingness to stop negotiating.

How do I start

Book a free call. You will speak with a TJT coach about where you are, what would actually need to change, and which program fits. If there is not a fit, we will tell you and point you somewhere better.

Do you offer coach certification

Yes, through TJT University, a certification program for coaches who want to be trained in the Ownership Operating System. It is a separate program from the Life Division and has its own page at thinktjt.com/university.

Everything in your life is yours.

Not everything is your fault. But everything is yours to respond to, yours to shape and yours to govern. The only question left is whether you are ready to operate that way.

Every call is with a TJT coach. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you.
